Welcome

I have always been fascinated by history, especially by the prominent figures whose colourful lives defined medieval British history: Llywelyn ap Iorwerth, his grandson Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, Henry II, Eleanor of Aquitaine, King John, Richard III and Simon de Montfort.

I started researching my family tree in 2003, intrigued to discover the people who populate my own family history and through them, where I come from.

Over the past three years, I have collected ever-increasing amounts of information and this website is the result. These pages chart the research I have undertaken, the lines of my tree on which I am currently working and what I hope to find in the future.

A great number of my ancestors came from Cornwall. Until recently, I had visited the county only once. In 2004 I went on a holiday/family history research trip, which took in some of the more unusual Cornish sights - many, many churches and graveyards and a wonderful walk around the city of Truro, searching out the houses where my ancestors lived over a century ago.

I hope you enjoy your visit to my site. If you want to discuss any aspect of the site or, more importantly, Cornish family history, please visit my forum by using the link at the top of this page.

I wish you as much luck with your family history research - and as much fun - as I have had with mine.
